FAMILY PROGRAM SPECIALIST (Title 32)

As a FAMILY PROGRAM SPECIALIST, GS-0301-09, you will:
This position is located in the Joint Force Headquarters (State), Manpower and Personnel Directorate (J-1), Support Programs Division. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a team member and advisor on Family Program issues, assist in the development, planning, implementing, and administering the Family Program concerning family and quality of life issues,and Military Funeral Honors Program management. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:
This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:
Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Must have at least 24 months experience, education or training in any position that required compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs):
Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Knowledge of the principles, policies, program goals and methodology of the National Guard quality of life programs. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships using tact and diplomacy in interacting with individuals/families and program support representatives, veterans' organizations, the State's National Guard, funeral home directors, and the public in general. Skill to collect, evaluate, and disseminate information and assess strengths, weaknesses, and needs of serviced population in order to establish program goals, objectives, and procedures. Knowledge of applicable military regulations, policies, and directives relating to Military Funeral Honors and Military Drill and Ceremony. Skill in managing a program including problem solving, motivating others to take necessary actions, and negotiating the allocation of resources for the program.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
