SURFACE MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST (Title 32)

As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST, GS-1601-9, you will:
This position is located in the Joint Forces Headquarters-State, Logistics Directorate (J-4/G-4), State Surface Maintenance Management Office. The primary purpose of the work is to analyze and evaluate maintenance operations, production, and procedures; and make recommendations for improvement. This requires practical knowledge of, and skill in applying, principles, concepts, and methods of surface maintenance equipment, facilities, and service operations. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:
This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:
Selected individual must be assigned to a compatible military position in the following MOS/AOC within 90 days of effective date of hire:
Warrant Officer:
88, 91, 92, 94; Enlisted:
88, 91, 92, 94. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised. GENERAL
Experience:
Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of equipment maintenance work, or skill in reading engineering drawings and specifications, using test instruments, making computations, and keeping records. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Must have at least 24 months experience in applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment, facility, or service operations sufficient in designing projects or planning assignments. Experience using well-established occupational methods and techniques to determine facility, grounds, equipment overhaul, maintenance, restoration, repair needs, etc. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs):
Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Knowledge of, and skill in applying, principles, concepts, and methods involving maintenance equipment, facilities, and service operations. Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methods of maintenance management sufficient to provide advice, assistance, and guidance to shop personnel. Knowledge of the full range of maintenance shop standards, policies, regulations, and methods sufficient to analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of maintenance management, repair, and training; and the need for improving existing practices that impact the overall maintenance program. Skill to oversee maintenance management programs, material readiness programs, cost reduction programs, and maintenance shop practices. Skill to facilitate and/or offer classroom training, as needed.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
